From January 7th to 10th, 2020, Las Vegas hosted CES 2020. The international consumer electronics show, which we participated for the second time in a row, became our opportunity for growth and development.
Powerful navigation without GPS
We were accepted to exhibit at the 4000 sq.ft. stand by Analog Devices, the global leader in the manufacture of integrated circuits. In the center, there was a track with toy cars, RC model vs. self-driving model, so everyone could try to compete against our smart algorithms and show their skill.
Through this, we wanted to demonstrate the capabilities of AD sensors and our algorithms, and prove that good navigation can be obtained without GPS.
Visitors’ time on the track varied from 10 seconds to 2 minutes, while the self-driving model was able to run one lap in 18.8 seconds. The result is inspiring.
What's new
We did a lot of work over the past year, improving the algorithms for processing data from inertial sensors, and enhancing positioning accuracy.
A toy model has turned into a high-tech device, equipped with an accelerometer, gyroscope, odometer, camera, lidar, and a preloaded track map as well.
Having completed the development process and tests, we went to the show in Las Vegas. On January 5, we arrived at the venue and started our final preparations.
Insight: where goes the automotive industry?
During 4 days, hundreds of guests have visited ADI stand. We managed to attract the audience’s attention simply entertaining them. This also helped us to get positive feedback from experts and get insight into the industry trends.
One of the most important discoveries we made during CES 2020 is that small company that focuses on narrow technical problems or products are now more in demand among the industry giants.
There is a window of opportunity for small teams. Big companies are learning how to work with local niche players. The overall ecosystem of automotive tracking solutions is constantly growing and becoming diverse.
Plans
We plan on developing our technology through the integration of new types of sensors, cameras, lidars, radars and not only. We expect these solutions will take their place in navigation systems for cars, smart services, and many other products.
