Navigine May 2026 Update: API v2, RTLS Analytics & Demo Kits

At Navigine, we believe that high-precision indoor tracking should do more than just pinpoint locations, it should optimize workflows, scale seamlessly under pressure, and turn spatial data into immediate business value.

Throughout May 2026, our engineering teams focused heavily on core performance, data readability, and vertical-specific functionality. Whether you are running a sprawling logistics hub, managing an enterprise corporate campus, or streamlining quick-commerce fulfillment, these updates are engineered to give you a definitive operational edge.

Here is an in-depth breakdown of our latest product milestones and what they mean for your business.

Core Architecture: Powering Enterprise Scale with API v2

To support enterprise clients handling massive data streams, we have officially rolled out API v2 for route request processing (fact_route_requests).

  • The Update: The system now writes incoming requests natively into a modernized data format. Our team is actively handling the background migration of historical records (v1 to v2) to maintain database integrity and continuity.

  • The Business Impact: As your infrastructure scales, server load spikes. API v2 significantly enhances backend throughput, reducing latency and boosting overall system reliability under heavy operational pressure. Most importantly, the response format for external clients remains unchanged, meaning you get all the benefits of an enterprise-grade backend upgrade with zero disruption to your existing integrations.

Interface Refinements: Faster, Cleaner Map Management

An RTLS platform is only as good as its management tools. This month's updates focus heavily on eliminating visual clutter and administrative friction within our web interface.

  • Streamlined Map Layouts: We have removed directional arrows from bidirectional routes on our tracking maps. This drastically cleans up the visual floor plan, making navigation lines easier to read at a glance.

  • Rapid Interface Hotkeys: To speed up manual map creation and structural updates, we introduced keyboard shortcut support (Enter to save/confirm edits, Esc to cancel/exit) directly into the map editor.

  • Cross-Browser Stability & Polish: We resolved specific map-editing bugs that impacted users on the Safari browser, alongside deploying an updated, polished visual layout for our main login interface.

  • The Business Impact: By reducing UI friction and making map layouts highly readable, your operations team can onboard new facilities, adjust floor plans, and configure routing layers in a fraction of the time.

Industry-Specific Analytics: Timesheets & Dark Store Functionality

We are continuing to build deep, vertical-specific feature sets tailored to the unique demands of modern retail, warehousing, and micro-fulfillment environments.

The Business Impact: The new Timesheet analytical view provides operations managers with bulletproof data on staff utilization, zone bottleneck patterns, and labor allocations. For the quick-commerce sector, the new Dark Store capabilities allow rapid-delivery hubs to optimize picker routing, slash order-assembly times, and scale micro-fulfillment networks efficiently.

Geodata Precision: Flawless Hybrid Asset Tracking

In modern logistics, asset visibility shouldn't stop the moment a shipment or piece of equipment moves outside a building's walls.

  • The Update: We deployed a critical logic fix addressing how objects register Latitude and Longitude (Lat/Lon) coordinates when querying the global WGS84 system coordinate standard.

  • The Business Impact: This fix ensures perfect alignment when transitioning tracking data from local, high-precision indoor networks (like BLE or UWB) to global outdoor GPS grids. Maintaining a reliable, single chain of custody across hybrid tracking environments ensures your assets are never lost in transit gaps.

Acceleration: Launch Your Pilot with the Navigine Store

Moving from a conceptual business plan to a physical, working proof-of-concept on your facility floor used to require lengthy procurement cycles and complex hardware sourcing. Not anymore.

Accelerate Your RTLS Deployment

We are excited to introduce the Navigine Store, a dedicated portal where companies can immediately purchase pre-configured Demo Kits. These kits arrive ready for action, packing high-performance tracking hardware integrated right out of the box with our updated software suite.

Instead of waiting weeks to source components, you can order a kit, plug it into your actual facility, and start collecting high-precision spatial data to validate your business case in real time.

F.A.Q

No. While we have upgraded the backend architecture (fact_route_requests format in MongoDB) to support larger data volumes, the API response format remains completely identical for external clients. Your existing integrations will continue to work seamlessly without requiring code changes.

We are automatically converting archive records of route requests (fact_route_requests). This migration happens completely in the background with zero server downtime, ensuring your historical data remains fully compatible with our upgraded infrastructure.

The Timesheet module tracks asset and personnel movement across designated tracking zones. It automatically calculates the duration spent within specific areas, generating clear analytics on shift compliance, floor-time utilization, and workflow bottlenecks.

Our Demo Kits provide everything needed to quickly validate our indoor positioning engine on your own facility floor. They include pre-configured tracking hardware (BLE beacons or tags) and out-of-the-box software integration, allowing you to bypass long procurement cycles and launch a pilot immediately.

This update specifically optimizes hybrid tracking scenarios. If your assets frequently move between indoor environments and outdoor spaces (relying on global GPS coordinates), this fix ensures that Latitude and Longitude coordinates map seamlessly and precisely without data gaps.

Based on user feedback, mapping routes that allow two-way traffic with dual arrows created unnecessary visual clutter on complex, multi-layered maps. Removing them provides a much cleaner layout, allowing operators to understand facility routing at a glance.
