Project Case

Overview

Navigating large healthcare complexes can be daunting for patients and visitors, often causing anxiety, late appointments, and unnecessary strain on hospital staff. To solve these challenges, Azienda Ospedaliera San Giuseppe Moscati Avellino launched an advanced indoor navigation project powered by Navigine's location engine, managed by GPI Group, and built as a mobile app by Arsera. The solution delivers precise turn-by-turn indoor guidance directly to visitors' smartphones, transforming navigation across the hospital campus.

Scope of Work

Arsera developed native iOS and Android versions of the MoscatiMaps application, creating an intuitive UI/UX tailored for healthcare visitors. Navigine provided the indoor positioning SDK and mapping engine, while GPI Group led overall project management and system integration. The deployment includes real-time location tracking, multi-floor route calculation, and POI search for hospital departments. Currently, Building 1 is live and actively used by visitors, with Building 2 fully configured and scheduled for the next phase.

Results

  • Patient wayfinding and destination arrival times dropped significantly, reducing late appointments.
