How does wi-fi location system work?
The system operates on the principle of determining coordinates using Wi-Fi points that can transmit certain data. By using RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) and MAC address (Media Access Control), the system can accurately calculate the current location of the user’s device using a multilateration approach.
The accuracy of Wi-Fi location determination depends on the number of access points, the building topology, and the type of smartphone. Modern Android-based smartphones can provide indoor positioning accuracy ranging from 2 to 10 meters, depending on the network configuration.

The more access points used as locators, the more accurate the object location determination will be. Depending on the building configuration, the accuracy ranges from 5 to 15 meters.
